For veterinarians

A second opinion that
shows its working.

TroTrace runs published asymmetry detectors on phone video and reports each signal independently. You see head-bob phase, pelvic-hike phase, stance time, hoofbeat IBI, and Keegan's MinDifference reference. Every verdict cites which signals supported it and which contradicted it. No black box.

What you get

Methodology

Two independent detectors

Our v5 within-end asymmetry detector and the Keegan MinDifference reference run in parallel. When they agree, it's high-confidence. When they disagree, you see the disagreement and can investigate.

Quality gate

Refuses ambiguous input

Six pre-flight checks (visibility, keypoint confidence, lateral angle, gait clarity, motion stability, usable frames). If the clip can't support a reliable verdict, the system says so — it does not guess.

Bilateral detection

Catches what asymmetry misses

Bilateral asymmetry can produce a near-symmetric gait pattern with high absolute phase amplitude — easy to read as 'sound' on a single signal. We surface this with a 'possible bilateral' flag rather than reporting 'sound,' so you don't miss it.

Pose estimation

DLC SuperAnimal-Quadruped

Industry-standard pose tracker by the Mathis Lab. 39 keypoints per frame, with a horse-vs-human filter that picks the correct individual when a handler is in shot.
